How do I get started? 

It all starts with a conversation. You can contact us via phone, email, social media or on our contact page.  

Next, we book your consultation appointment with Ethan! This appointment can be done in person or virtually.  

During your consultation, we will get to know one another, talk about the scope of the project including inspiration, budget, stone preferences, and lifestyle. You may or may not have an idea of what you want, and that is totally okay, we are good at this!

What is the process? 

Now it is time to bring your idea to life. With that, we might head straight to designing/sketching your piece or scheduling a second appointment to show an assortment of stones from our vendors.  

We create and design in 3-d CAD. When a set of CAD renderings/images are completed, we will send the images to the customer for approval or revisions. A 3D print of your design can be at any time for reference. These 3D models allow us to do test fittings and give physical context of the design. Designing is often a collaboration with Ethan and can take as little as a week to as long as months for those who dare to dig deeper into the creative process. We are committed to whatever it takes to get it perfect!

Once we have a design you love, stones selected, and any other additional information, it is time to start production. 

 

How long does it take? 

Production times vary depending on the piece, typically it takes 8 to 10 weeks from start to finish. 

 

What about ring size? 

If you do not know the ring size, no worries, we can help you. We will take any ring sizes needed at your consultation. In the event of a surprise delivery, we can mail you a free plastic ring sizer to help determine the ring size, or here is one more reference for ring sizes.  Ring size - Wikipedia  

 

Stone sourcing options? 

We are extremely proud of our exclusive collection of worldwide resources. We can source all sizes and types of diamonds and gemstones. Our vendors are also conflict free, each is vetted and trusted with relationships that have been built over twenty years.

Can I use my existing jewelry? 

Yes, we can use existing metals and stones from your older jewelry and family heirlooms. Often, we can melt some of that existing gold into your new piece. 

 

How do I pay? 

- We accept personal checks, cashier's checks, bank wires, and all credit cards. 

- We can offer installment financing with ShopPay or PayPal. 

- We never charge to discuss your custom designs and pricing options. 

- We require a 50% deposit prior to production. The deposit applies toward the final cost of your piece. 

- Balance is due upon completion. 

 

How do I get insurance? 

Your piece will come with an appraisal for insurance replacement. It is important to add fine jewelry to a homeowner's, renters, or individual policy; this will protect against loss, damage, or theft of jewelry.  

Many but not all diamonds and gemstones are accompanied by a certificate from a third-party laboratory like GIA. Any such documents will be included with your purchase.

Do you have a warranty? 

Our jewelry is made to last beyond a lifetime, we stand by our quality and craftsmanship with our three-year warranty. Louis XV guarantees against all defects of materials and workmanship. Stones of 2.5 mm and smaller will be replaced at no cost under warranty. Stones of 2.5 mm and larger are subject to a charge for replacement. This warranty does not include center stones, accidental damage to metal, diamonds and gemstones, normal wear and tear, neglect, or loss.

*Normal wear and tear are considered worn prongs, scratches, dents, or chips in metals and stones.  

We recommend having your jewelry properly insured to protect it if damaged, lost, or stolen. 

We recommend having your jewelry inspected every six months to 1 year to keep it in the best condition.  

 

Resizing and Repairs? 

You will receive one free resizing including shipping with your purchase. Beyond the initial resizing the customer will pay for any further resizing and shipping.

Customers are welcome to purchase an insured shipping label for $50-$100, depending on value. Label will be sent by email. 

Depending on the design of the piece, and sourcing, resizing or repairs will typically take 2-4 weeks. Repairs will be quoted before the work is performed.

Care, wear, and cleaning?  

We make our pieces to last a lifetime, and we believe regular cleaning and mindfulness of wearing your custom jewelry will help ensure that happens. We would love to see you and your jewelry pieces once a year for a full cleaning and inspection. 

Wearing carefully helps! Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces and harsh chemicals. Remove jewelry during sports activities, housework, and outdoor activities. Remove all jewelry when in a swimming pool or hot tub. 

Diamond and gemstone jewelry can be cleaned using shampoo or mild soap, warm water, and a soft bristle brush like a toothbrush. We recommend doing this weekly and be sure to apply a little extra effort getting underneath the stones for maximum sparkle!  

*Some gemstones like opals, pearls, and emeralds require special care, avoid steaming, ultrasonic, and all cleaners. Please contact us for assistance or questions. 

 

Shipping? 

- Items ship discreetly from “LXV,” fully insured with tracking, and signature required via FedEx, UPS, or USPS.  

- Average delivery time is 1-3 business days for a US address excluding holidays.  

- Signature confirmation will be required for delivery. *If you do not want a signature confirmation you must notify us of this and you will assume responsibility for delivery. Items mailed without signature are not available for insurance and LXV Jewelers will not be liable for any lost or stolen items. 

- International shipping is sent via UPS or USPS. Shipment is fully insured with tracking.  

- Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.  

- Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to your purchase.  

- We are not responsible for custom delays. 

- We cannot mark merchandise values below value or mark items as "gifts" 

- Shipping can be discussed during the consultation and any special requests or deliveries will be approved ahead of time.

Returns/Exchanges? 

At Louis XV we accept returns/exchanges when the following conditions are met: 

  • Approval is needed before sending back the item. 
  • Contact us within 10 days of receiving your purchase. 
  • Items must be returned in unused condition within 5 days from approval. 
  • All original packaging and certifications must be returned with the item. 
  • Initial shipping fees and taxes paid previously will not be refunded. 
  • We will provide an insured shipping label, free of charge, for returns or exchanges. 
  • Custom jewelry designs are not able to be returned. 
  • Personalized or engraved items are not able to be returned. 
  • Special ordered items are not able to be returned. 

 

Sharing content?  

We love taking images and videos of your custom piece to share on our social media platforms. We will always wait to share images until after your proposal or presentation date.
